The ANT was founded in October 2000 by Dr.Sunil Kaul and Ms.Jennifer Liang. The original Trust has now branched out into 4 more Trusts which run a weaving project, a crafts store in Bangalore since 2007 to support the 13 NGOs of Crafts Sector from Northeast by promoting their culture and livelihood (annual sales about 1.2 crores, promoting entrepreneurship by providing micro finance and a Trust runs small short courses to build the capacity of small NGOs. Other activities include 1.Organic yet modern agriculture that has doubled the production of rice and converted around 500 farmers back to the chemical-free mould. 2. Entrepreneurship development followed by small loans to individuals and groups. 3. Health: (a) Help the community monitor the National Rural Health Mission (b) Monitor the health expenses of the community and thecommunity based institutions like Village Health & Sanitation Committees on a sample basis.(c) Run a Mental Health Camp each month to treat more than 170 Mental patients every month 4. Working with Internally Displaced people in Deosri to struggle for their rights to get work, rations and compensation.
